I hate what this piece symbolises and really don't like the way the monster looks but good colours. I strongly dissagree with what you are saying in this piece but you are intitled to freedom of speech and I respect that. But I do believe that this piece of artwork is blasphemous to my country and depicts an ignorant point of view of our goverment. I am especially dissappointed because you don't truly know what my goverment is really like and only listen to what your media or friends tell you, and it is sad that we Americans get works of art depicting our goverment like this. I truly believe that our goverment is not like this piece of art and this is the work of arrogance and I hope that other people from all over the world will learn how great America really is, even though we do make mistakes. We are still a young country and how amazing it is that how fast we have become a world power. And yet still we get mocked and antagonised. For shame on people who blasphemise Americans and have never lived in America. For shame on the people who think the war is just for oil. For shame on you for depicting this piece of art with such an ignorant and uneducated point of view.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to come across more political bickering on an art website, but I guess it's unavoidable. As an American born asian, I do feel grateful for the opportunity that I have been presented with to live in the best situated country in the world, but sometimes I also do feel as if there are corruption. And the media hyped views of others are just that - personal feelings of people who see things from a different perspective, for that is their own indifference. As for me, I have learned that no goverment system is perfect, and neither is America, yet it is still my homeland. For that I shall respect it, but everyone is partial to something.

I think that everyone picks on America because we are the world super power.
because we are bigger and stronger then everyone else I brings a lot of attention to us. We do one little thing wrong and everyone starts pointing fingers and assigning blames. Yet when little countries do mass murders (Armania sorry if I spelled it wrong) and most of the little countries in Africa) No one pays attention because no one cares about them, yet people will always find a way to pick on us or find a reason to hate us. Yet most of them only focus the the mistakes our leaders make instead of focusing on all the help that our contry gives and all the millions of dollars donated to countries all across the globe. True I don't agree with the war in Iraq or some of the other things my country has done ,but can any of you say that your country is perfect? can you say your country has done nothing wrong? We are all people and even our leaders are human and as humans we all make mistakes so lets forgive and forget eat some Twinkies drink some Dr. Pepper and call it a good day! And just as Dave Thomas always used to say Just Be Nice!

People will "pick" on "America" (I put that in quotes because people's opinions aren't an insult to the entire country - usually) of course due to it's size- there is a larger population therefore more problems! In Britain I feel we (being the people around me) care far more than you think about the "little countries."
And just to be awkward I refuse to have 'twinkies' as I have no idea what they are!
In my opinion (and Fealasy's from what I can gather!) America needs to sort out it's problems rather than pretending everything is alright, afterall it has a big effect on the world.
Not every country is perfect but then again few countries can claim to be a s 'big' (both in population and geographically) as the USA.
I don't view this art as an attack on American people, but rather those running it, and those strong believers in patriotism who will turn a blind eye. It is a thought-provoking piece which I like, if not only for it's symbollism, for it's attention to detail.
(By the way, bunbun, just to assure you this is not a personal attack, I agree that no country is perfect )

Do not tell me that I am rich from selling weapons to both sides when I wasn't even born. I have not benefacted from that at all.
Do you truly know what Saddam has done to his own people? The effects of the gasses Saddam gave to his own people still disfigure and are born with diseases. This is after generations of people. (I.E. the people who were gassed great-grandchildren)
I have to agree again with bunbun because no country is perfect. Yeah my country did opress African-Americans for a long time. Was I alive at the time? No. Would've I supported it? No. Was it wrong? Yes. Have other countries made mistakes like this? Slavery was born in the Bible times and probably before that.
If you don't know this then you should brush up on your history. When Columbus landed in America he thought he was in India. So he called the natives, 'Indians'. Which just so happens to translate to, 'god-like'. Oh and by the way I am part Indian too.

Yes I do have a bias too and I do get my information from the news, many news stations are democratic and pick on all the little mistakes of President Bush. So I get a bias view.
The Land of the Free is the best slogan that describes my country. We made mistakes but we fixed them.
I am not bombing Iraq, and nor do I have the power to change where we bomb. I am not in control of it. I would stop the bombing right now if I could.

I am extremly tired of people saying America is a culture waste land and we don't know anything about any countries. I learn about other countries in school. I learn about world history. In fact, I have to take a full year of world history. I learn about culture almost every day of my life.m I even learn about American culture too.
I love my country and I hope that what I have written to you will help you to see some of your errors as you have shown me my errors. I hope that you love your country and don't forget that England is fighting this war in Iraq too.

this piece is amazing, i can feel your expression its so vivid, i'm an artist living in america, and i would like to say, even though your not an american, this piece could have just as easily been made in america, by any number of my more skilled friends...well not this exact piece but this sentiment...you understand i'm sure... +9/9

So this is a late post, but what the hell. You have a very interesting and unique style (Fealasy), and while I disagree with the sentiment, it's and expression of how you feel and is meant (the art) to provoke feelings in others so...judging by the posts, I'd say you succeeded. Good Job. As a side note to seuzo901 (if this even gets read so long afer the flurry of inital posts) don't let those comments of "America is a Social Wasteland" bother you, after all our "culture" is the result of many cultures combined to make America the unique and diverse place that it is, and don't forget that despite what ever someone says or feels about America, it's government, people or the ideal that is America, it is the freedom to feel and to voice those feelings that America stands for above all else. It is that freedom (and the others that we as Americans enjoy) that our soldiers, past and present have fought for and for which they continue to fight. So whether you aggree with this piece or not, Fealasy has done what an artist must do, express herself through her art, and no matter what your reaction is to this piece it is important to remember that her right to create this piece is sacrosanct to the American ideals and therefor should not be attacked by any American.

It´s a great piece and of course one should be allowed to comment on things , art can´t be about portraying pretty flowers and such.
